Description: | Our client is a JSE Listed foods business renowned for their quality and innovation. Reporting to the Managing Executive, the Supply Chain Executive will be accountable for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain including warehousing, distribution, 3rd party logistics, inventory, procurement, supplier management and planning – this is specific to the perishables (short shelf life) business structure. You will ensure the efficient and timely movement of materials, goods, and services to support the manufacturing process and meet customer demands. You have executive level leadership experience with demonstrated capability in: * Strategy Development & Implementation * Cross Function Collaboration * Risk Management * Process & Continuous Improvement * Financial Management * People Management * Developing Culture & Values We expect this candidate to have: • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent). • Post graduate qualification • 10 years experience in supply chain management within a food manufacturing environment with at least 8 years of senior management experience • Experience with perishable short shelf life products is essential. Further expertise required: • Comprehensive understanding of supply chain operations • Proven track record of successful supply chain optimisation, cost reduction, and process improvement initiatives. • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, methodologies, and best practices. • Knowledge of local regulations, customs, and import/export requirements. • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and experience with process improvement projects is advantageous. • Familiarity with procurement and inventory management software. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. • Effective communication and negotiation skills. • Ability to adapt to changing business needs, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for supply chain management and process improvement. • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering collaboration and driving performance. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams and senior management.
